Looking to lead and coordinate multi-functional resources in the design, maintenance, improvement and operations of process-related manufacturing systems for a Fortune 200 Company with some of the most iconic brands? If you have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field along with 3 plus years of experience in application of mechanical engineering principles across both existing processes and new projects, we want to speak with you! We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Richmond, VA. The incumbent will coordinate capital and operational budgeting as part of the engineering team and will report to the Principal Engineer at Altria Compounds. What you will be doing: • Gathering input and requirements from critical business partners and collaborate with authorities across functions and with third parties to design, install and improve production equipment and related infrastructure in support of processes, process improvements and the business objectives of ACL. • Performing capital project execution to include scoping, funding and implementation and quality management system activities. • Identifying process improvement opportunities, developing solutions and implement action plans to generate incremental process improvements. • Providing technical mentorship in the development of preventive maintenance plans. • Providing technical assistance and leadership in solving and diagnosing machinery issues and solutions. • Acting as a backup to the controls engineer. Providing direction to controls resources on an as needed basis. We want you to have: • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or similarly related engineering field) • 3+ years’ experience in application of mechanical engineering principals • Familiarity with control systems • Demonstrated project management experience for medium to large capital projects and teams of resources and ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to routine operational challenges • Demonstrated excellence in communication and engagement skills with business partners and teams both formally in writing/presentation and orally • Demonstrated aptitude for critical thinking, deductive reasoning, application of quality control principles and active listening • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds, working in a production environment for extended periods of time standing, walking, etc. Altria Group is a FORTUNE 200 company that leads the premier tobacco companies in the United States.
