About the Role: The Electrical Engineer I works within the Electrical Engineering team of CCA, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager. This role will assist the Engineering and Facilities groups with designing and installing low voltage electrical infrastructure for new and existing buildings, as well as ensuring that existing infrastructure can support installation of automated equipment. The role will also be charged with completing and maintaining documentation to address necessary compliance and safety regulations and requirements. The ideal candidate routinely exercises sound engineering judgment and utilizes best practices in their work, while keeping abreast of new developments in industry to continuously improve both their skills and CCA’s standards. What You'll Do + Coordinate with electrical utilities, electrical contractors, local officials, and internal stakeholders to design and install low voltage (480V and below) electrical infrastructure in agricultural and industrial buildings. Projects will be both greenfield and brownfield + Communicate with Project Manager and other stakeholders on project progress, budget, and scope. + Assist the Safety team in creating/modifying electrical safety policies and workflows. Provide input into training programs and consult on training sessions + Develop and maintain documentation, including one-line drawings and panel schedules, for existing and new electrical infrastructure + Support maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and developing preventative maintenance procedures for electrical components + Perform calculations for circuit protection coordination, as well as arc flash analysis and power load analysis + Maintain professionalism and live CCA’s core values of Teamwork, Innovation, Integrity and Process at all times Perform all other duties as assigned or inherent to the position What You'll Need to Have Required + Experience building and refining processes, as the company grows + Past experience in startups is preferred + Current registration as an Electrical PE in CA + Working knowledge of industry standards such as NFPA 70, NFPA 70E + Previous experience working directly with public utilities and electrical contractors + Experience with small- to medium-scale project management, utilizing predictive and agile techniques + BSEE with 5-10 years of industry experience or MSEE with 3-8 years of industry experience + Expert user of Microsoft Office, Google’s G suite, Asana, AutoCAD + Functional knowledge of California cannabis regulations + Must be 21 years of age (or older) at the time of hire + Proficiency of the English language, verbal and written format Desired/A plus! + Knowledge in industrial controls, including PLCs, servo drives, VFDs, low voltage motors, etc. + Pole-to-site design of electrical distribution systems What You'll Receive + Competitive base salary + Medical, dental and vision benefits + 100% Employer Paid LTD + Vacation, Holidays, & Paid Sick CCA is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily in a light industrial and office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low; however, fluctuation of noise level may occur during peak production. The temperature in the work environment is usually moderate; however, fluctuation of temperature, either decreasing or increasing (heat level) is likely to occur during peak production.
