We identify, evaluate, and acquire U.S.-based cannabis operations within each state to vertically integrate, produce, and distribute medical-grade cannabis formulations in the United States, offering patients and customers premium, high-grade cannabis and related products.
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining ownership over procurement, purchasing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and the day-to-day purchasing operations. This role will be responsible for leading and driving the formation of the centralized procurement department and deployment of equipment ordering packaging, and processes that will support future growth. This position will work with company business leaders to identify requirements for services and products and lead centralized sourcing and procurement efforts for strategic categories. It is imperative that this person is a dynamic leader, able to translate experience from traditional industries and adapt to fit the unique nature of the cannabis industry. This role will work closely with the national operations team on day-to-day challenges and help to create processes to ensure equipment and material selection and ordering is effectively managed. The Procurement Manager will require a great deal of proactive problem solving, extensive contract negotiations, and managing ongoing vendor relationships.
+ Develop an organizational procurement strategy, create and manage short, mid, and long-term objectives for procurement and category management
+ Responsible for the selection and administration of all procurement systems, working in full collaboration with IT, Accounting and Operations leadership
+ Responsible for establishing companywide procurement policy and governance.
+ Negotiate and contract with key vendors that provide both quality and cost-effective products; find ways to reduce overall spend through efficient buying
+ Build a procurement team as we scale to strategically source vendors for all products and equipment utilized throughout the organization providing alternative options when possible.
+ Work closely with operational teams to anticipate ongoing purchasing and inventory needs
+ Coordinate with each department that has responsibility for the management of the tactical purchasing and cost estimating functions for all purchasing activities, trade contractor relations, and contract administration
+ Create best practice-based processes for category management, strategic sourcing including RFPs, contract negotiations, implementation, and compliance
+ Establish service level agreements and evaluation criteria for products, subcontractors, and material suppliers
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor?s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
+ 7-10 years of specific experience in procurement, purchasing, and contract negotiations
+ Strong problem-solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detail
+ Excellent analytical skills
+ Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment
+ Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
