JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A Researcher faculty position is available in the Department of Pharmacology, Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. The holder of this position will carry out research in cancer chemoprevention and therapy with natural products such as herbals, cannabis as well as synthetic cannabinoids and smart selenium compounds. The ultimate goal of this translational pharmacology research program is to identify effective modalities in cell culture and animal models and translate them into clinical studies for treatment of cancer or related symptoms. Candidates must have expertise in vitro and in vivo drug development assays and experience with early phase human clinical studies. This position requires a PhD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Cancer biology, Molecular biology, Cell biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related field; outstanding publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals; first-hand experience with high thought put screening (HTS), mechanism of action (MOA) studies, animal handling, and early stage human studies and intervention trials. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to details, be capable of conceptualizing, designing experiments and conducting studies independently as well as working with and supervising other lab members in a team setting. This is a fixed-term appointment that is funded for one-year from date of hire.
