Job Description

WHO WE ARE:

This office is 5 minutes walking distance away from Pickering Go Station / Pickering Town Centre. The Office is located on Valley Farm Road.

We believe in high-quality, eco-friendly products that are good for the environment and good for people. We are a small "Canna Startup" that has been around for 5 years selling eco-friendly accessories. Our filter is in a couple of government stores and big retail chains (We sell to 4 public canna companies now wholesale). Although we are in over 400 stores, there is only the 1 founder / entrepreneur (me) and 1 other team member who who has been operating the whole company full time.

Our wholesale sales process has gotten out of hand and we cannot handle the large amount of stores that we are working with on a wholesale basis. We don't ask them about reorders properly and we let some sales accounts fall through the cracks because we do not have a full dedicated person to do this sales role. I am seeking a young, hard working and motivated individual who has sales experience and is seeking a new opportunity with a new GREEN company. We already sell into over 500 stores, but we need your help getting into more and properly managing the stores that we are already in. You will basically be responsible for our wholesale sales process from end - to - end.

WORK DAY

*The idea of this role is that 2 days per week you will be required to work from my home office in Pickering. Then the other days you can optionally work to get more sales while working from home. You also have to have your own laptop and bring it to work each day.

*For example, you would work Tuesday + Thursday from my Pickering Office (10:00am - 5:30pm has been our work schedule). And then Monday and Wednesday you work from home during a schedule that is best for you.

PAYMENT

This is a heavily commissioned based job. Your role performance will be based on how many new wholesale accounts you can bring in and how many of our accessories you can get from our current customers (Stores and distributors). In addition to this $800 minimum, you will be paid a commission based on the % of sales you bring in. This will be a sliding scale between 10% - 30% commission based on the total $ value of the products you sell. There will also be a bonus for hitting certain goals each month. This can be discussed early in the interview process. But please note that this commission will be a large portion of your payment. You need to succeed in constantly selling our accessories to stores in order to be successful.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Committed to seeing out the sales process from beginning to end.
  • Identify new distribution opportunities and build partnerships that maximize profitable share and volume through distribution, visibility and service.
  • Effectively manage given territory (right now it will be mainly Canada, USA with a secondary emphasis and other smaller countries) and really take ownership of the sales cycle.
  • Maintain CRM database on daily customer/prospect interactions and targets to coordinate with business goals (For example Google PipeDrive)
  • The main ways of getting customers is via email, direct message on Instagram and by calling the store and connecting with them with a brief phone call. You are NOT expected to go visit any stores (Digital is much better). When you apply for this application, please include your favourite strain in your cover letter / application so that we know you read everything.
  • When we get leads, the owner will also help you close the deal if you need, and can help. We have done custom videos for interested stores and this helps close deals very successfully (We introduce ourselves, our company, etc in a short 1 minute video we send to them!).
  • In addition to selling our products, we are starting to custom engrave our products with store logo's on them. This means stores can get their own company brand on our products. This is in high demand and it will be your responsibility to sell this to the stores and wholesale accounts.

Qualifications:

  • One to Five years’ experience in the Sales, Beverage, Alcohol, Tobacco or similar industry is preferred
  • Previous experience working in green industry in an asset
  • Strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills
  • High level negotiation skills required in this unique, open private market
  • Team player with strong people skills and a proven ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization
  • A problem-solver, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Sound judgment and the ability to act proactively on own initiative
  • Ability to identify consumer motivators, customer goals and to understand the customer-supplier relationship
  • Excellent organizational skills and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Have CannSell certification and previous experience working at a dispensary also an asset.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales quotas is very beneficial and will show us you know how to sell products.
  • BA/BS University degree with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration preferred. Or some kind of sales and business background equivalent helps.

COVID-19 considerations:
We are a very small office of only 2 people. So you will be person #3. You will only be required to come to the office for 2 days per week, and the other days can optionally work from home.
