Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.The Operations Controller/Director of Finance for Montrose's Laboratory Services business will work within a national team of Operations and Finance professionals and interact regularly with other departments in the organization. The Laboratory Services business line is a high growth revenue segment of Montrose Environmental Group, with offices across the U.S. As the finance leader for the businesses, this individual will work closely with the business-line Vice Presidents and Laboratory Directors and will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, operational accounting and other finance tasks including: budgeting, forecasting, performance tracking and analysis, management reporting, transaction analysis and cash-flow management, and for overseeing a team responsible for operational back-office support, including billing, project administration, purchasing coordination, collections, etc. These duties require considerable confidentiality, initiative, tact, maturity and independent judgment. The person must possess strong interpersonal and organization skills. This position will report directly into Montrose Corporate Finance with dotted-line into the business-line SVP.As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:* Overall responsibility for financial support of Laboratory Services business lines (including financial planning and analysis, invoicing, collections, project management, purchasing, etc.)* Assist with the management of annual budget process for the business* Assist in developing forecasts/models, incorporating booked backlog and pipeline, for submittal to FPandA team.* Assist in designing Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) workflows and/or modules to facilitate efficient forecasting and production planning: example defining data entries/statuses necessary to feed downstream financial systems.* Investigate means to integrate SalesForce data into the forecasting and production planning process.* Analyze and interpret business trends to drive operations financial strategy for the region* Review actuals against
