Job Title: Director of Distribution Sales
Reports to: CEO
Compensation Band: $70,000.00-80,000/ year plus quarterly bonuses based on performance and equity plan participation
FLSA Status: Exempt
The Director of Distribution will provide leadership and sales expertise to optimize distribution transactions to drive value and build a competitive advantage. This position will be responsible for sales logistics, development of relationships with other cannabis entities, and brokering deals for both in-house and third party bulk and retail products. This position will collaborate extensively with the Director of Post Production Operations and the Director of Manufacturing to ensure the supply chain meets demand and vice versa. The Director will be responsible for top line revenue of the entire Woodrock Distribution division.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all distribution sales SOPs – including but not limited to CRM maintenance, development of sales marketing assets, standard service level agreements, etc.
Document the aforementioned SOPs for all procedures on a consistent basis to ensure constant accuracy of SOPs in practice and record.
Develop and maintain a CRM of all sales connections and networking activities.
Supports the efforts of the Director of Post Production Operations to ensure available inventory supports the market demands and orders placed.
Connect the dots between sales connections to broker deals for high demand products within the network.
Collaborate with Director of Post Production Operations and the Director of Manufacturing in addressing quality and servicing needs of customers
Source specified products and/or vendors to achieve the best quality and price for resell and brokered deals.
Collaborate with all departments in addressing quality and servicing needs of customers
Establish initial sales efforts for expanding department. Including initial development of leads and sales network, hiring and management of sales team, and execution of initial sales contracts.
Manage, supervise, schedule, and direct the activities of the trim, packaging, and distribution logistics employees.
Staffing, training, development & performance evaluations including but not limited to:
Develop a comprehensive staffing plan then participate with the executive team/ human resources to hire, train, and supervise staff (includes scheduling, oversight, training, and annual performance reviews).
In cooperation with the Director of Post Production Operations, create, submit for approval, and oversee the distribution budget.
Coordinate with all other departments with regard to production scheduling to ensure a smooth supply stream.
Required to be on-call and to respond to emergency situations at any time. This may include scheduling issues, potentially covering a vacant shift, facility issues and/ or safety requirements.
Attend and participate in continuing education programs up to and including management training and development classes.
Participate in developing and implementing policies and procedures to advance the Organization’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
Advanced knowledge of METRC, cannabis regulations and internal databases as it pertains to the department.
Must follow the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance the mission, vision, goals, and objectives in all areas of their work.
Effectively create, develop and utilize all resources to provide training programs and new employee orientation.
Knowledge of general management principles and practices.
Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.
Must be familiar with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
Valid driver’s license or State ID card
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must pass all required background checks
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the legal cannabis industry
Self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables to execution with high autonomy
Strong problem solving, and analytical skills must generate actionable options for solving problems
Exceptional ability to network and build sales relationships
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s or equivalent experience preferred.
Proven success in a fast-paced sales environment, working independently
3+ years of management experience
Minimum of 7+ years proven experience in sales and distribution.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
