Job Description

Overview:

Our client, a licensed producer of medical and recreational cannabis products, is in need of a grower to join their Ville St Laurent team. This is a full-time, permanent position within a rapidly growing organization and offers strong opportunities for advancement. Strong compensation and benefits available.

 

Job Summary

Perform all the tasks in the grow including cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, packaging, waste disposal and inventory management. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow production schedules and communicate variances to direct report
  • Determine irrigation frequency and duration
  • Monitor environmental inputs to maximize production
  • Perform water, nutrient and soil tests
  • Execute pest management protocols as directed
  • Perform regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
  • Perform preventative maintenance on growing equipment and test instruments
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for Production, Operations and Sanitation Departments
  • Prepare batch records for Quality Assurance Team’s review and ensure batch record documentation is prepared and organized in compliance with company SOPs and Health Canada regulations
  • Utilize environmental control system to regulate grow room parameters
  • Ensure compliance such as but not limited to company safety procedures, Health Canada Regulations, grow room sanitation protocols
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility at all times
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in a horticultural program with at least 1 year of commercial grow experience, or
  • Functional bilingualism (EN – FR) as an asset
  • Knowledge and experience of plant and pest management.
  • Health Canada licensed cannabis production facility for 1 year
  • Agriculture/greenhouse setting, or a related field for 2 years
  • Proficiency with computer systems (ERP software, MS Office, and others)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, cannabis, pharmaceuticals, food production or manufacturing environment as an asset
