CanMar Recruitment is looking for a Lead Sanitation Technician for our client in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia.

About Our Client

The client is a global, integrated, cannabis company. It is based in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

About the Role

As Sanitation Technician, you are primarily responsible for ensuring the sanitation and cleanliness of all facility areas, assisting the supervision of the Sanitation Department staff, and monitoring operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility remains sterile, safe, and optimized for production according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other guidelines (i.e. biosecurity, footbaths, etc.)
  • Support the Sanitation Manager in monitoring and supervising sanitation staff members, ensuring efficiency of work
  • Assist Sanitation Manager in training team members on appropriate use of sanitation equipment, chemicals, and SOPs;
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure production equipment is clean prior to being used
  • Follow the Daily Sanitation Checklist and document all tasks (completed and incomplete)
  • Assist in the facilitation of projects and tasks within the production facility
  • Conduct work activities in a safe manner in accordance with all safety, GMP, and Cannabis Act guidelines
  • Sanitize and scrub all production and non-production rooms in accordance with SOPs
  • Assume ownership of SOPs and programs



Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in maintenance or sanitation role, preferably in a highly regulated industry (i.e. food industry)
  • Experience working in GMP/GPP facilities
  • Experience in the cannabis industry is an asset
  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • WHMIS training/certification
  • Strong familiarity with Health Canada regulated environments and protocols
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing and production processes
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
