Job Description

Our client, a company in the Cannabis Industry, is seeking a Director of Expansion to take their growth to the next level! The ideal person will focus on implementing, executing, and driving process improvement to expand operations, compliance, real estate, and technology. This position will work closely with legal and operations teams and be based on the West Coast of the US. As well, this role will involve 50% travel. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for creating and executing strategy among a variety of cross functional departments that include compliance, real estate, leasing/manufacturing operations, finance, and technology. 

  • Work independently to find, select, and build new facilities in new markets. 

  • Work with the legal team in developing and executing SOPs ensuring compliance in cannabis markets. 

  • Build and manage a team of highly motivated coordinators who are responsible for managing the day-to-day projects. 

  • Drive process improvements in all areas being expanded. 

Education and Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or related field. MBA is a plus. 

  • 3-5 years in cannabis operations in a leadership capacity, managing operations required, ideally with a MSO (multi-state operator) 

  • 3 years’ experience in project management and managing highly complex projects for a large company. 

  • Experience managing real estate projects and build outs of manufacturing facilities. 

  • Ability to travel 50%.
