Since 2012, Howl’s has produced legal medical and adult use cannabis tinctures for the Rhode Island and Massachusetts communities. Howl’s uses a traditional, organic whole plant infusion process. Production & Operations Specialists will assist in all aspects of the production and operational procedures to make Howl’s products. They will also learn to contribute to Howl’s continual improvement processes and quality assurance practices. Training in all procedures and practices are provided.
Production & Operations Specialists must be able to follow precise procedures, work independently and with a team, learn quickly, problem-solve, know when to stop and ask questions, have integrity and responsibility, and be efficient and detail oriented. They should be able to work within systems and follow directions while being comfortable identifying and communicating system improvement possibilities. They should be willing and able to perform repetitive physical tasks like packaging, capping, and putting away production supplies and perform daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled cleaning and organizing tasks. They should also be able to perform detail oriented operational tasks like taking inventory and double checking data as part of Howl’s redundant review process designed to protect against errors and ensure Howl’s meets its mission and quality standards.
Candidates should bring experience in physical production/manufacturing as well as operational tasks that require mental focus. They should have patience and an ability to be efficient while maintaining high standards, safety protocols, and keeping a calm temperament. Established communication skills and a commitment to measured responses to day to day challenges is highly valued.
The Production & Operations Specialist position is perfect for candidates who can commit to supporting the Production, Operations, or Wholesale Managers on site as directed. The first year will be focused on performing essential assistance across all departments inside the production facility. At the same time, Howl’s is deliberately and steadily expanding in an evolving industry as well as continually improving it’s processes and equipment. It is therefore essential that candidates be adaptable to evolve along with the business and the production and operations processes in order to maintain long term success within the company & industry.
Regular meetings with managers will shape the position and set the groundwork for growth into a manager position within 3 years. This position will participate in regular all staff training that includes Howl’s values & mission, approach to decision making, culture, plant medicine, accountability, and transparency. For this reason, candidates should bring an interest in professional development to meet new opportunities at the company as it’s needs and opportunities grow.

1+ years production, manufacturing, or operational experience in any field (food service, herbal medicine, farming, food processing, and/or cannabis experience a plus)
Detail Oriented, for example noticing typos or misprints
Quality Oriented, for example caring about label alignment
Organized and Efficient
Ability to follow precise standard operating procedures
Disciplined and calm under pressure
Adaptable to changing roles and responsibilities
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Experience in plant medicine production is a plus but not necessary
